George BREADMORE of Stockbridge, in the County of Southampton, 'master miller and corn dealer'.
George was born about 1829 at Wherwell, the son of Joseph BREADMORE, a maltster, of Mildenhall and his second wife Ann INGRAM. In 1856 George married Sarah Shipway NEWMAN and they had eight children.
Their youngest son Charles Walter BREADMORE continued the family tradition with a Corn and Seed Merchants shop in the High Street, Winchester, as well as becoming the Miller at the Winchester City Mill, now owned by the National Trust. Their oldest son Alfred George was also a Miller and a Coal and Coke Merchant in Stockbridge.
