Farm bailiff

William BREADMORE was born in Brinkworth, Wiltshire in 1821, the fifth of nine children. His parents were William BREADMORE and Hannah MATTHEWS.

In 1881 William, a widower, was living at 10 The Elms, Shaw, Lydiard Millicent, Wiltshire, and his occupation was listed as Farm Bailiff. He had been listed as a Farm Bailiff in 1861 at Moonsleaze Farm, Purton and in 1871 at Brook Farm, Lydiard Millicent (now owned by the Hungry Horse chain of pubs and restaurants).

In 1847 William married Catherine COLLIER and they had five children, four of whom died before reaching their first birthday. Catherine died in 1874 and William died in December 1899 and was buried with his wife at Lydiard Millicant Church.
